Why Song Production is Like Raising a Child

Remember the story of the Ugly Duckling? No, we aren’t transitioning into creating bedtime stories, but there is a valuable life lesson that can be learned from that classic tale. And while the year is not yet old, we’re still re-visiting some of our standout moments from 2016.

Remember the story of the Ugly Duckling? No, we aren’t transitioning into creating bedtime stories, but there is a valuable life lesson that can be learned from that classic tale.

And while the year is not yet old, we’re still re-visiting some of our standout moments from 2016. Like the time one of our clients gave feedback about how pleasantly surprised he was at how well his project turned out. According to him, it was like waiting on the birth of Humpty Dumpty’s child, only to be bowled over when it came out with Brad Pitt features.

Whew…while that left us with a smile, it also called for reflection on the impact of the services offered by SongCat. What we realize is that providing professional song production services is much like raising a child that begins life looking like the ugly duckling in that famous story.

Careful and precise work, put in over a period of time, whether it is background vocals, instruments, or mixing and mastering, slowly shape that song into something beautiful. A swan then emerges, ready to hit the airwaves. At least, that’s what our goal is; creating beautiful ‘swans’ in audio form.

Short of asking you to choose us over traditional music production services, that’s probably the most poetic way to tell you that it’s worth trying SongCat.

The decision to entrust someone with producing your song is highly personal. After all, it’s your baby and you don’t let just anyone play a part in your little one’s upbringing. But raising a child in today’s world requires a different approach than that of decades ago, and the same goes for music production in today’s technologically-driven era.

As the great Aretha Franklin once said, “Music changes, and I’m gonna change right along with it.” The question is, will you?

SongCat’s professional music production services represent a future where anyone can get their songs produced at the intersection of high quality and low cost. In other words, where your beautiful swan is developed. If you haven’t yet, now is the time to check us out and see what great stories we can create together in 2017.

Have a great week!
